Proper asbestos inspection and testing helps identify materials before work begins, reducing risk and ensuring safer project planning. Many projects require certified asbestos abatement contractors to safely remove or contain asbestos materials in accordance with regulations. Testing is the first step in determining whether asbestos removal is necessary and what level of abatement is required In most areas, asbestos testing is required before renovation or demolition permits are issued. Requirements vary by location, so it is important to follow all local regulations and occupational health and safety guidelines before disturbing any suspect materials.
